“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Writer of Hebrews
“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” – Saint Augustine
Clearly, there’s some measure of faith involved in every step to accomplishing something. Recently, I’ve been going through circumstances that require a lot of faith and these quotes, though the authors are long gone, have been such an encouragement.
They remind me that even in the past, way way way back in the day, people took steps of faith and some even took a leap of faith. They remind me that I am not alone and neither are you. These writings remind me that there is hope because all of these authors overcame some kind of trial to still be quoted today.
There are many things in society that will tell us that the onus is on us, that we have ultimate control over our future; but the truth is, we simply need to believe that it’s worth it. We simply need to believe and question wisely. We simply need to rest in faith and act accordingly.
Don’t complicate it. Don’t over think it. Trust. Believe. Work. Strive. Have a lil faith.
