A husband. A son. A brother. A father. A mentor. A pastor and much more.
As he took his seat to share his testimony on camera for live online service, the atmosphere was different, the camera was ready, the mic was tested, the breeze got a little bit more chilly.
He began. His story. His journey.
The bible is all he knew. Married with children. Sermons he could preach like every word was on the back of his hand. Planting a new church. Encouragement, motivation, biblical context, scripture, pastoral leadership. It was his. An anointed man to be one of the greats. A legacy surely to be left behind for being this Pastor.
And here he sat. My own husband behind the camera lens, listening as he poured out his journey. His mistake. His choice. His decision…that ended it all.
He never wanted to touch a bible ever again. He never thought he would read his Father’s words in public, let alone speak them from a pulpit. He felt too far gone to be redeemed by the very Grace he once preached to a world hungry and thirsty for all he knew to be true.
But that very same Grace found him. Met him years later when all was lost but seemed to be normal. In the middle of his living room with his entire family asleep, Grace wrapped His warmth around him and drew him close. Ministering to his soul and overwhelming his spirit. A depth he knew not. A truth revealed. Simple yet powerful. Grace. There is no limit.
Where sin increased, GRACE ABOUNDED all the more..
Romans 5:20
Hitting him like a ton of bricks. He bowed his face to the Grace he thought he knew.
And here he sat, wrapping up his testimony for a world that is hungry and thirsty for all he knows to be true.
Ownership. Man. Vulnerability. Fijian. Broken. Resurrected. Healed. Truth. Whole. Grace. Legacy.
Thank you, Pastor Clarke.
