There are so many lessons that I learned in 2024 that I’m definitely carrying into this year and if I’m honest, a lot of it was learned and pruned off of me in some of my darkest moments last year.
And this first Sunday of the 2025 set the tone for what I’m really looking forward to in this season – trust – trusting God at His word.
During one my intentional hangouts with my girls last year, one of them mentioned how she trusts God at His word, how we as believers should trust God at His level of His word, not try to confine Him only to our own circumstances. And that really hit home for me, I mean sometimes I trust God but it’s at my level of what I can see and understand of my world, but this year, this year I’m challenged to trust Him at His word at His level.
I know better so I must make the commitment to do/be better. There’s a different level of awareness in this season, there’s a new level of self awareness that makes me realise how wicked the person looking back at me in the mirror really is, like my thoughts, my intentions, and really wringing it all out for the sake of Christ because I can’t imagine going forward now or living now and just saying I’m a Christian or I believe in Jesus Christ without actually checking my own soul.
I realise that was a bit of a ramble but on this first Sunday of 2025, I’m grateful and filled with a hope that I can’t keep to myself, and that hope, that hope is Jesus. I couldn’t imagine doing life without Him. So today, I hope if you’ve read this far that you would be blessed by the creator of the heavens and the earth because He is faithful. The writer of Hebrews said it like this
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
Have a blessed week ahead,
